A.D.P.

From The Arthur Conan Doyle Encyclopedia

A.D.P. is a trademark of Adolph Posener & Co., standing for Adolph David Posener. Brothers Adolph and David Posener were associates until 1877. When David left the partnership, the trademark remained A.D.P. but the hallmark on silver work was A.P. imprint. Note: Adolph Posener middle name was David.

A.D.P. was usually mistaken for Alfred Dunhill Pipe, which did not start making pipes before 1904, and never used any ADP trademark.
