Hugh Laurie (born 11 june 1959) is a British actor, writer, director, composer, musician, producer and singer who played from 2004-2012 the character Dr. Gregory House in the TV series House M.D. This character is largely inspired from Sherlock Holmes, with which he shares many similarities.
