An excellent entry has been received for the trial race to select the British team for the international motor-cycle cup. No fewer than eighteen machines are entered, and a particularly gratifying circumstance is the inscribing of motor-cycle's by seven private owners, some of whom will themselves ride. This is satisfactory, for the stronger the private sporting element in motor racing of any kind the more the public interest in it will be, and also the freer it will be from suspicion of unfair play. The private owners are:
