Father of Dr. Watson. (SIGN, 133)
- H. Watson was dead many years before The Sign of Four case, i.e. 1888. (SIGN, 138)
- By observing Dr. Watson's watch, which was inscribed with "H.W.", Sherlock Holmes could deduce that it belong's to Watson's father and then to his elder brother before him. (SIGN, 137)
