John Wood

John Wood (5 july 1930 - 6 august 2011) was a British actor who played Sherlock Holmes in the play Sherlock Holmes by William Gillette at Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway (New York) with Tim Pigott-Smith as Dr. Watson.
Wood received a Tony Award nominations for the role of Sherlock Holmes in the 1974-1975 play.
