This letter was written by Arthur Conan Doyle on 17 december 1892 from South Norwood, to Mrs D'Oyly Carte, commenting on her admirable criticism of Jane Annie sent to him by J. M. Barrie and discussing the various points which he thinks he has covered.

The nature of the play, an elopement, a night scene outside bedrooms &c make it necessary that there should be more exits & entrances than in the other operas you mention, but we have decreased them considerably.
