5th February 1912.
Dear Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
There are difficulties about any general raising of the age of the Territorials and I am not sure that it would much help. In the case of the Special Reserve, who stand on rather a different footing, for reasons which have been laid down by the General Staff we have raised the age a little.
Thank you for writing. This and any other suggestions that you may make will always receive very friendly consideration from me.
- Believe me,
- Yours very truly,
- Haldane of Cloan
