Sir A. Conan Doyle on Divorce (letter 1912)
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on Divorce
To the Editor The Daily Mail.
Sir, — Your correspondent Mr. Bell says, "Had there been no such thing as divorce, there would not have been 100,000 separated couples." These separated couples are not people who are divorced, but people who live apart from each other and yet are not allowed to marry anyone else. If their separation were changed to divorce, many of them would presumably remarry and form normal healthy households.
