The Game's Afoot, or Holmes for the Holidays is an American play written by Ken Ludwig, performed by The Key Players, from 1 to 11 november 2017 at Key Largo Lion's Club (Key Largo, FL, USA), starring Jim Pardinas as William Gillette / Sherlock Holmes.

Despite the title, there is no characters from the original Sherlock Holmes stories in the plot but the William Gillette character is wearing the usual Sherlock Holmes outfits. The play was published by Samuel French Ltd., and won the 2012 Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allen Poe Awards – Best Play.

Acclaimed actor of the 1930s, William Gillette, invites his Sherlock Holmes co-stars to his eccentric Connecticut mansion for a Christmas Eve celebration. When one of the guests is murdered, Gillette employs the persona of the master detective he's made famous on the stage...
