Dr. Conan Doyle writes:—
- As far as I am concerned, I think from fifteen hundred to two thousand words a very good day's work. I never take more than one contract at a time, and never promise to produce work at any rate which does not give me ample time fotr those "off colour" days which authors are, I think, more subject to than anyone else.
