United Services v. Corinthians

The Evening News (Portsmouth) (10 june 1890, p. 3)

This match, resumed yesterday at the U.S.C.C. Ground, Portsmouth, was interrupted early in the afternoon by the drifting rains, and as but one innings on each side was completed the contest remained drawn. The partnership between Captain Banbury and Major Bethune for the Corinthians was productive of exactly a hundred runs — the "telegraph" going from 107 to 207 — and in the Major's 66 there were nine 4's.
