* Henry Peters was the Australian (Adelaide) con man — alias Dr. Shlessinger — who, with [[Annie Fraser]], plotted to rob and bury [[Lady Frances Carfax]] alive ([[LADY]] {{refcanon|LADY|259}} {{refcanon|LADY|416}}).

* He preyed on lonely ladies, with [[Annie Fraser]] (Mrs. Peters) posing as his wife. Together they lured [[Lady Frances Carfax]] to London, imprisoned her, and stole/pawned her jewels ([[LADY]] {{refcanon|LADY|359}}).

* [[Sherlock Holmes]] and [[Dr. Watson]] confronted [[Annie Fraser]] and Henry Peters at 36 Poultney Square, where a coffin lies ready for an 8 a.m. funeral ([[LADY]] {{refcanon|LADY|398}}). After first finding only the decoy corpse of [[Rose Spender]], [[Sherlock Holmes]] deduced the oversized coffin was built to hide a second body. He halted the funeral, had the lid unscrewed, and rescued the chloroformed, but alive, [[Lady Frances Carfax]] ([[LADY]] {{refcanon|LADY|531}}).

* He had a left ear "jagged or torn" from an Adelaide saloon fight ([[LADY]] {{refcanon|LADY|249}} {{refcanon|LADY|261}}).
