Unfortunately the inclement weather materially affected the attendance at this annual charity at Lord's yesterday. However, despite the heavy storm, which necessitated the extension of the luncheon interval by over an hour, a definite issue was arrived at, the Actors winning by 60 runs, with six wickets to spare.

Included in the winning team was B. S. Foster, one of the famous Easter family, and to his tremendous hitting must be attributed his side's easy success. Batting first, the Authors found runs difficult to obtain against the good bowling of C. Aubrey Smith (seven wickets for 37 runs), and with the exception of Maj. F. G. Guggisberg (56), C. C. Headlam, and Maj. Philip Trevor, Quickly received marching orders, the total realising 193.

V. O'Connor and B. S. Foster opened the Actors' innings, and against the moderate attack scored rapidly, putting on 129 before O'Connor was out for 51. Hitting with increased vigour, Foster reached his century in seventy minutes, but was out immediately after to a capital catch by Milne in the country. Scores:—
