A serious accident occurred to-day at the corner of Elm-grove and Grove-road. As Mr. Warburton and Mr. Peel, of Broomfield, near Cosham, were driving through Southsea their horse took fright and became unmanageable. After galloping for about four hundred yards its career was brought to an end by coming into collision with a stone wall at the place mentioned. Both gentlemen were thrown over the animal's head and were badly injured, especially Mr. Warburton, who sustained a deep cut over the right eye, had his upper jaw broken, and now lies in a critical condition. [[Arthur Conan Doyle|Dr. Conan Doyle]], of Bush Villas, and Mr. Knight, of Grove-road, were quickly in attendance upon the injured gentlemen, and the former afterwards accompanied them to their homes.
