'''SIR A. CONAN DOYLE ON THE PROTESTS.'''

To the Editor of the "Daily Express."

Sir, — May I add my voice to that of Mr. Seaton-Tiedeman (who wrote to you recently on "Divorce for Desertion") in expressing the hope that justice and common sense may at last triumph. The public practically unanimous about it, as tested by the vote of several great meetings, but a fraudulent and fictitious public opinion is foisted upon member Parliament to deter them from moving the matter.

This is done by certain church organisations, which arrange that sheaves of these cards and letters be sent to individual members, as if their constituents were probing, when the real protest is only for small backward groups who have the advantage of organisation.

I hope members will disregard those tactics, and will remember that though the frogs be noisy, there are also bullock in the meadow.
