Frank Finlay (6 august 1926 - 30 january 2016) was a British actor who played [[Lestrade|Inspector Lestrade]] in 1965 in the movie [[A Study in Terror (movie 1965)|A Study in Terror]] (Inspector Lestrade) with [[John Neville]] as [[Sherlock Holmes]] and also in 1979 in the movie [[Murder by Decree]] with [[Christopher Plummer]] as [[Sherlock Holmes]]. <br />

He also played [[Sir Arthur Conan Doyle]] in 1992 in episode [[The Other Side]] of the TV series ''Encounters'' with [[Richard E. Grant]] as [[Sherlock Holmes]].<br />
