Jackie Coogan (26 october 1914 - 1 march 1984) was an American actor, wellknown for playing the child in the Charlie Chaplin's ''The Kid'' and Uncle Fester in ''The Addams Family'' TV series. <br />
<br />
In 1923, Jackie, aged 9, starring Crown Prince Ferdinand William Otto in ''Long Live the King'' at the Metro Studios met [[Sir Arthur Conan Doyle]] on the set of the film (see photo).<br />
<br />
Forty-two years later, in 1965, he played Uncle Fester in [[Thing is Missing|The Addams Family: Thing is Missing]] with [[John Astin]] as Gomez Addams / Sherlock Holmes. He also played the Haymarket Proprietor in the movie [[Sherlock Holmes in New York]] in 1976 with [[Roger Moore]] as [[Sherlock Holmes]]. <br />
