The second and concluding stage of this match at the Saffrons, Eastbourne, yesterday was remarkable for the woeful collapse of the house players before the deadly bowling of Trott, who was in his best form. Continuing their overnight innings, which showed 74 for one wicket, Eastbourne made but a poor stand, only K. E. M. Barker of the succeeding batsmen reaching double figures, and the whole eleven were out for 145. Trott secured nine wickets for 74 in twenty-two overs. Following on the homesters fared even more disastrously, the first five wickets being down for 28. [[Arthur Conan Doyle|Conan Doyle]], Barker, and Gilbert checked the rot, but the end soon came, the match resulting in a victory for the M.C.C. by an innings and 61 runs. In the Eastbourne second venture Trott and Morgan each captured four wickets at a cost of 39 and 31 runs respectively. Score:—<br />
