TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMES.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sir, — I observe that Mr. Burns states that Mr. Chamberlain has left no result of the war. He has left a united South Africa under the Union Jack, and he has gained the respect and love of every Briton in that country. What man of our age can show such a monument as that ? When I read in history of the little men who in their day threw mud at the great Empire builders, at Chatham and at Pitt, it makes one realize that the world moves in circles and comes over back to the same point.&lt;br /&gt;
