It is now sixteen years since Sherlock Holmes first thrilled and delighted lovers of fiction, and made all other detectives of literature hopelessly out of date.<br /> <br /> Sir Arthur has written many charming stories, but it is on the creation of Sherlock Holmes that his fame mainly rests; and great a favourite was he with the public that the author was induced to resurrect him three years ago.
