"[[The Speckled Band (movie 1912)|The Speckled Band]]," the first of a series of [[Sherlock Holmes (movies 1912-1913)|Sherlock Holmes films]] which have been, "produced" under the personal direction of [[Sir Arthur Conan Doyle|Sir A. Conan Doyle]], will be seen at the leading cinema halls in London shortly.

Nine [[Sherlock Holmes]] "adventures" have been secured by the Fenning Film Service, and they will be released at the rate of one a month. The first will appear on October 27. The other eight are:—

: "The Stolen Paper."
: "The Silver Blaze."
: "Mystery of Boscombe Vale."
: "The Sign of Four."
: "The Beryl Coronet."
: "Adventure of Copper Beeches."
: "The Reigate Squires."
: "The Musgrave Ritual."

Leading West End actors and actresses were engaged to play the various parts.

Mr. W. A. Fenning, managing director of the Fenning Company, informed an "Express" representative, yesterday that the total cost incurred in the purchase and production of the films is more than £30.000.

They were taken at Bexhill-on-Sea, [[Sir Arthur Conan Doyle|Sir A. Conan Doyle]] supervising each scene
down to the smallest detail of expression, and business.

"No expense has been spared," he said, "to meet Sir Arthur's requirements in the matter of production."

There is already a demand for the films abroad, and after their production in Great Britain they will be taken round the world and shown in different countries, including Morocco and China.
