Hornung]]&amp;#039;s XI at Esher when, as usual, Arnesby Brown made 64 and Abbey, as usual, made 0 (not out). For the opposition, five authors, still with us and still writing, failed to reach double figures: they were [[Arthur Conan Doyle|A. Conan Doyle]], J. C. Snaith, A. E. W. Mason, Frankfort Moore and [[J. M. Barrie]]. On another occasion the artists met, and were defeated by Sir James Barrie&amp;#039;s XI, known as the Allahakbarries, for whom the creator of [[Sherlock Holmes]] scored 91 and took eight wickets.&lt;br /&gt;
