Sir, — The State makes a grant to a successful general. Ronald Ross has been the most successful of all generals, winning victory for the human race against the Malaria Fiend which has claimed its victims by the million. Is it not a scandal that the human race should do so little in return? And what is the House of Lords for when such men as Ronald Ross, Baden-Powell, and Oliver Lodge are not included in it?<br />
