Sir, — You attribute to me the saying that the recent judgment would mean the end of psychical research. It was not I who said so, but Sir Patrick Hastings, though not quite in those words. The judgment, in his opinion, makes one responsible for any medium, paid or unpaid, whom one may employ. It obviously has a far-reading effect.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We will hope, however, that the severity of the law thus baldly  set forth will lend to a reaction against it.&lt;br /&gt;
