The Scapegoat is a short animated film written and directed by Claire Powell, released in july 2014, starring Jonathan Kydd as the narrator and the voice of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Set at the turn of the 20th century it follows George Edalji, a young man whose life is thrown into turmoil after a series of disturbing events lead him to be accused of a ruthless crime. In an attempt to unravel the mystery he finds himself in, George appeals to Britain’s most famous detective writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and as Arthur embarks on a passionate campaign to clear George's name it seems to the rest of the watching world, as though Sherlock Holmes has come to life.
