"[[Sherlock Holmes (play 1901 Star Theatre)|Sherlock Holmes]]" at the Star last evening proved to be one of the dramatic events of the season thus far progressed. [[William Gillette]] in the character of "[[Sherlock Holmes]]," was of course the most attractive feature and he established himself even more firmly in the hearts of Buffalo theater goers than he did at his last appearance in this city. His portrayal of the character of [[Sherlock Holmes]], the detective who so skilfully unravels the intricate circumstances which surround and bind in mystery "The Strange Case of Miss Faulkner' is as near perfect as can be desired.

The part of [[Professor Moriarty|Prof. Moriarty]], although it requires great skill on the part of the person to whom it is assigned, was well sustained as were the parts of "Miss Faulkner" and "[[Dr. Watson]]." The scenic effects are a great feature of the production as produced at the Star this week and add much to its success. "[[Sherlock Holmes]]" will never grow tiresome to theater goers and it will undoubtedly be well patronized this week.
