Conan Doyle contribution

Commander BAMBER, seconded the motion, which was supported by Dr. CONAN DOYLE, who bore testimony to the good work so unostentatiously performed in their little Infirmary. To the working man and the mechanic, he said, his eyes were practically his life, and the loss of his eyes a living death. He asked to be entered as an annual subscriber. (Hear, hear.)
