Arthème Fayard & Cie is a French publishing house based in Paris, founded in 1857 by Jean-François Arthème Fayard (1836-1895) as Librairie Arthème Fayard. In 1895, after his father's death, Joseph-Arthème Fayard (1866-1936) took over. He continued the success of the company by creating magazines of illustrated novels. Today known as Fayard.
