Fareham v. Hampshire Rovers

The Evening News (Portsmouth) (22 may 1890, p. 3)

This match was played on Wednesday, on the ground at Hilsea, and resulted in a narrow victory for Fareham by one run only on the first innings. The scoring on both sides was very low, there being no less than six "ducks" in the first innings of Fareham, and in the second the only one to reach double figures was Mr. Britten, who was also responsible for six wickets in the first venture of the Rovers. The honours of batting for the last-named were gained by Mr. Henery and the Rev. J. Stebbing, though Mr. "Extras" numbered a dozen, out of a total of 72, leaving the Rovers deficient by a single.
