On Saturday the local club played Liss, and won with the greatest ease. Batting first Haslemere ran up a score of 158 for the loss of four wickets, when the innings was declared closed, and then Liss were all dismissed for 76. Dr. Conan Doyle made top score (43) for Haslemere, and the chief contributors to the Liss total were Dr. Jackson, 24; Rogers, 18; and T. Bridger, 9.
