Howard Pyle

Howard Pyle (5 march 1853 - 9 november 1911) was an American illustrator and author.
In 1894 and 1899, he did 7 illustrations for Arthur Conan Doyle's fictions.

The following Howard Pyle illustration was published as a frontispiece of The Works of A. Conan Doyle vol. 5 (1914) with a caption taken from The Voyage of Copley Banks, but Howard Pyle drew it for "Dead Men Tell No Tales", written by Morgan Robertson, published in Collier's (16 december 1899).
