John Murray's Thin Paper edition

John Murray is a British publishing company founded by John Murray (1745-1793) in 1768. When Arthur Conan Doyle was published between 1909 and 1930, Sir John Murray IV (1851-1928) and Sir John Murray V (1884-1967) managed the firm.

In 1917, the firm acquired his competitor Smith, Elder & Co..
