This letter was written by Arthur Conan Doyle from Windlesham, Crowborough, Sussex, to Edith Wattson about his play The Fires of Fate performed at the Haymarket Theatre between 12 to 31 august 1909 with Ben Webster in the title role.

Letter

Dear Miss Edith Wattson,

I thank you heartily for your very kind letter. I wonder if you have seen the new cast perform. There is a press night on Thursday next at the Haymarket. I send a card for two seats in case. On the whole I think the second cast is better than the first — though, as you say, Waller is always excellent. With renewed thanks.

Yours very truly,
Arthur Conan Doyle.
