This letter was written by Arthur Conan Doyle on 5 april 1927 from Bignell Wood, Minstead, Hants, to Mr. Gollancz.

Letter

With reference to what I said about the history I think I could cut it down by 150,000 words to make it a smaller volume.

Mr. Hewitt KC thought that there were allusions in the Slater book which might cause trouble. He has marked them & is showing me how to make it all safe. I'll send it in when I have dare so.

A. Conan Doyle.
