This match was played at the Pavilion Grounds on Monday last, Norwood won the toss, and thanks to the batting of Austin, Alfred Goodwin, and Springett, put together the respectable total of 216. To this, the Bank, who were not so strongly represented as usual, could only respond with 42, and, following on, were easily beaten in an innings. Podmore bowled beat for the Bank, but without luck, hitting the sticks twice without removing the bails. For Norwood, Elborough took 12 wickets in the match for 25 runs, and Austin four for 17 in the first innings. Two fine catches must be recorded, one by A. Conan Doyle, from a hard cut by Manfield and the other by Elborough, when he caught and bowled Brennan. Score:—
