René Giffey

René Giffey (8 march 1884 - 1 september 1965) was a French illustrator and caricaturist. He was one of the most prolific and most talented French artists of the first half of the 20th century, creating an incredible amount of work over a 50-years career.
Between 1928 and 1930, he did 39 illustrations for Arthur Conan Doyle's novel The Maracot Deep.
