The movie is a loosely mixing characters and plot from A Scandal in Bohemia (Irene Adler) and The Red-Headed League (Gold robbery in bank underground).
The young actor Geoffrey Moore (playing Scott Adler, the Irene Adler's son) is in fact the Roger Moore's son.
