Sir Arthur and Lady Conan Doyle performed the opening ceremony at the new Salvation Army Hall at Crowborough recently. when Sir Arthur delivered a characteristically witty speech, in which be referred to the Army as giving food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, and taking away drink from those, who were too thirsty. The author of "Sherlock Holmes" has, we observe, been elected a member of the Sussex Archeological Society.
