"DAILY EXPRESS" OFFER TO SIR A. CONAN DOYLE.

TEST FOR MEDIUMS.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who, in an address before the London Spiritualist Alliance Limited, on Thursday last, expressed his belief in spooks who wear clothes and an astral hospital for weakly souls, sends the following letter to the "Daily Express":-

To the Editor of the "Express."

Sir, - In your issue of Saturday last you state that I "vouch for the genuineness of the dark-room brotherhood."

As a matter of fact I advised my audience to trust to the literature of the subject rather than to personal experiment in coming to their conclusions explained that the frequenting of séances led to mere sensation hunting, and warned them of the existence of fraudulent impostors:

There is, therefore, no basis for your observators.

As to the existence of genuine mediums of that I have no doubt at all, both from my own experience and from the more extended observations of others.

ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE.
Windlesham, Crowborough, Sussex.

We invite Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to submit to the "Daily Express" the names of the mediums whose genuineness he has proved by experience. When these names are forthcoming the "Daily Express" will offer the mediums the opportunity of demonstrating their powers before a selected number of men and women to whom Sir Arthur Conan Doyle could not possibly object.
