Stan Laurel (16 june 1890 - 23 february 1965) was an american actor famous for his Laurel & Hardy duo with [[Oliver Hardy]].

In 1925, before the duo with Hardy, he played the parodic sherlockian detective ''Webster Dingle'' in [[The Sleuth]]. 

In 1944, with Hardy, he played in [[The Big Noise]] where he appeared dressed with a deerstalker and a calabash pipe.
