The BBC Presents: Sherlock Holmes is a British radio show produced by BBC between 1988 and 2010, starring Clive Merrison & Roger Rees as Sherlock Holmes, and Michael Williams, Crawford Logan & Andrew Sachs as Dr. Watson.

In 1987, Bert Coules, a freelance writer for radio, told BBC about his idea of adapting The Hound of the Baskervilles. The following year, on 27 may 1988, the first half of the adventure was aired on radio. Roger Rees played Sherlock Holmes and Crawford Logan played Dr. Watson. The second half was broadcasted on 3 june. It was a hit with the audience and the press. Then, two other novels were ordered : A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four, but Roger Rees was no longer available. A new casting was whosen and Clive Merrison became Holmes with Michael Williams as Watson. Both novels were released in november and december 1989. It was another success and Bert Coules proposed six other short stories. But the BBC asked for the entire Sherlock Holmes stories!

Thus, between 1990 and 1998, 56 short stories and 4 novels were broadcasted on radio. But after the last story, BBC did not want to stop and ordered Bert Coules a suite. Like the shows of the 30-40s, the new stories were chosen among the Untold Stories. There were 10 other adventures broadcasted on BBC Radio 4 under the title: "The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes".

For this final series, the role of Dr. Watson was given to Andrew Sachs as Michael Williams had died in the meantime.
