''The Crucifer of Blood'' is an American play written and directed by [[Paul Giovanni]], performed at the ''Music Center, Ahmanson Theatre'' (Los Angeles, USA) from 5 december 1980 to 17 january 1981, starring [[Charlton Heston]] as [[Sherlock Holmes]] and [[Jeremy Brett]] as [[Dr. Watson]].

The play is an adaptation of [[Arthur Conan Doyle]]'s novel : [[The Sign of Four]] (1890). 

[[Jeremy Brett]] will play, 4 years later, one of the most faithful [[Sherlock Holmes]] in the TV series [[Sherlock Holmes (TV series 1984-1994)|Sherlock Holmes]] (1984-1994).
