The Curious Case of the Countless Clues (french title)

The Curious Case of the Countless Clues is the 19th episode in season 6 of the British TV series The Avengers, aired on 5 february 1969 on ITV. 52 min.

John Steed investigates several murders which clues on the crime scene are always the same. Sir Arthur Doyle, a police inspector wearing a Sherlock Holmes cliché outfit is also on the case...

This episode has nothing sherlockian. It's totally parodic with the Sherlock Holmes disguise and a « Elementary my dear Steed ! » Sir Arthur Doyle has no connection with the real Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Another easter egg about the Perry Mason's author Erle Stanley Gardiner as three character in this episode are named : Mr Earle, Mr Gardiner and Mr Stanley.
