Volunteers and their Uniform is a letter written by Arthur Conan Doyle first published in The Volunteer Training Corps Gazette on 29 july 1916.

Volunteers and Their Uniform

Sir, — It is difficult to imagine that this discussion about changing the Volunteer uniform to khaki is intended seriously. Why should we change our uniforms when we have only, at considerable cost, succeeded in clothing ourselves? And why should we abandon what is associated with all our honourable work? I am convinced that such an idea would be most unpopular with the force.

Yours, &c.,

ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE
Windlesham, Crowborough, Sussex. 22nd July 1916.
