• Beryl Stapleton was the wife of Jack Stapleton, presented as his sister (HOUN 2843).

• She was darker than any brunette, slim, elegant, and tall (HOUN 1560).

• She tried to warn the Baskerville party about the Jack Stapleton plan (HOUN 1565). She later sent an anonymous warning letter (HOUN 3732).

• Used by Jack Stapleton but ultimately helped Sherlock Holmes by guiding him toward Stapleton's lair in the Grimpen Mire (HOUN 3590).
