* He first met [[John Douglas]] in California, where they became partners in a mining claim at a place called Benito Canyon ([[VALL]] {{refcanon|VALL|1036}})

* On the night of the murder, Barker was the man who raises the alarm at the Manor House ([[VALL]] {{refcanon|VALL|519}})
