Alleged Treaty Forger Sentenced

Plagiarized a Conan Doyle Novel.
Brussels, Monday.
Franck Heine, who has confessed to being the author of the alleged secret treaty, the publication of which in a Dutch paper made such a stir lately, has been found guilty by a Dutch Court of plagiarising a novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and ordered to pay damages amounting to 1,000 francs, about £5 sterling.
The judgment is given in the form that an Antwerp paper which published his copy, is condemned jointly, so that in the event of one of the parties not paying the damages, the other can be called upon to pay them. — Reuter.
