ATLANTIC CITY, N. J., June 18. — [Special.] — Expressing the opinion that England would become a nation of baseball fans, once the game was properly introduced in that country, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle declared here that he will make an attempt to bring baseball to the notice of sportsmen in the kingdom.
"Baseball is a noble game."
said Sir Arthur. "I enjoy watching it immensely and have even played it. I know baseball is the game England needs. For years there has been a demand for a young man's game, and baseball will fill it. It would not displace cricket, to which England is so devoted, as that is an old man's game."
