Erle Stanley Gardner

Erle Stanley Gardner (17 july 1889 - 11 march 1970) was an American author and lawyer who wrote nearly 100 detective and mystery novels. He is best known for the Perry Mason series of detective stories.

In 1959, the Coventry Evening Telegraph presented him as The American Conan Doyle when he wrote his 101st novels.
