- J. W. Windle was the Division Master of Merton County, Lodge 249, of The Scowrers (VALL 2762).
- In a letter sent to John McGinty, he asked that two "good men" should be sent to do a job on Andrew Rae, of Rae and Sturmash, coal-owners (VALL 2765).
